Implant Dentistry

Implant Surgery

Dental treatment utilising titanium implants as supports for prosthetic teeth is known as implant dentistry.

It involves two procedures – one surgical and one prosthetic. During the surgical phase the dental implant or implants are placed into the jawbone and then allowed to heal. Once healed, they are utilised for the prosthetic phase, which involves the fabrication of the artificial crown or denture and the insertion into the mouth.

Implant dentistry provides the most natural feeling tooth replacements available today. Implant dentistry can be provided to replace a single tooth or a whole row or arch of teeth.

Whatever questions you may have related to implant dentistry can be addressed to Dr. Mahon.
